We work in the villages around Dausa so that a student who wants to study is not stopped by a fee, a uniform, or the absence of a quiet room to read in.

Registered in Dausa, working in Dausa
Giriraj Prasad Ghuraiya Foundation Dausa is a registered trust. It is named after Giriraj Prasad Ghuraiya, and the work carried out in his name is what the foundation reports on each year.
It is small, it is local, and everything it does happens within reach of the villages around Dausa — the same schools, the same families, year after year.
02Our purpose
Remove the specific thing in the way
A student rarely stops studying for one large reason. It is a fee due this month, a uniform that was never bought, a house with no quiet corner and no light after eight. The foundation’s purpose is to deal with those specific obstacles, one at a time, for students it can actually reach.

Six areas, one district
Education carries most of the work. The others grew out of being present in the same villages for long enough to be asked.

04Our approach
How the work is done

In the village, not from an office
Awareness campaigns are held in school grounds with parents and teachers present, because the decision to keep a child in school is taken at home.

Practical, not symbolic
A library with an inverter and a broadband line is more use than a library with neither. The support given is the thing that was actually missing.

Recognition in public
Students are honoured in front of their own village. It costs little and changes what the next child believes is available to them.

Written down each year
What was done, and the figures for it, are published as an annual report rather than left as an impression.
